1932 – 2009

Mrs. Vera B. Williams, 76, of Orrick, Mo., passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 at North Kansas City Hospital.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10th at the Gowing Chapel in Orrick. Burial in South Point Cemetery near Orrick. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9th at the funeral home.

Vera was born on July 3, 1932 in Siloam Springs, Mo., to Elliott and Mary (Stubbs) Collins. She was united in marriage to Huey E. Williams in December of 1952. She had lived in Kansas City and Pleasant Valley, Mo., before moving to Orrick in 1973. Vera liked to shop and especially loved to go camping.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Huey E. Williams, of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn Welch (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Mo., Bruce Welch (Connie) of Urbana, Mo., Melvin Williams (Martha) of Kansas City, Mo., and Ronnie Williams (Janie) of Orrick, Mo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Cantrell (Joseph) of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; a sister, Delphie Turner of Sedalia, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren
