Terry Lee Pearon, Sr., 73, of Richmond, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of September 4, 2026, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Terry, known to many as “Buzz,” was born on July 2, 1953, in North Kansas City, Missouri, to Leland “Lee” Pearon and Gladys (York) Pearon. His father’s military service took the family to Kansas City, California, and Kansas during Terry’s youth. He later settled in the Richmond community, which he called home for approximately 45 years.

On June 29, 1990, Terry was united in marriage to Nancy Kay Hupp. Together they were members of Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond, and they shared their lives until Nancy’s passing on December 1, 2020.

Terry spent most of his working life as a truck driver, hauling aggregate rock and working in quarries throughout the area. In his later years he worked at several area factories, including Bosch, Gilmore, and Fiskars. He took great pride in his career, and those who knew him grew accustomed to hearing him point out a road or a building and remark, “I helped build that,” or “That didn’t use to be here.”

Terry had many friends and treasured the miles he shared with his fellow Harley riders. A skilled handyman, he even converted his Harley-Davidson Fat Boy into a trike. He loved trains and built model train sets for his son Travis, and he enjoyed fishing with his son Terry II. He was devoted to his dog, Blue. Terry never tired of a classic western, whether in color or in black and white, and he especially admired the films of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, though he was equally fond of a good science fiction movie.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents, Lee and Gladys Pearon; his daughter, Andrea Pearon; his granddaughter, Emily Hendrix; and his siblings, Paul, Shirley, and Ron.

He is survived by his companion, Cheryl Graham; his sons, Travis R. Pearon and Terry Pearon II; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Preston, Gabriel, and Dobby Pearon, and Alexis and Ethan Hendrix; his great-grandson, Lucas Evans; his nephew, Thomas Hupp; and many extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at South Point Cemetery, east of Orrick, Missouri. Arrangements are under the care of Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, Missouri.
