1930 – 2015

Doras Evelyn Butkovich, 84, of Independence, Mo., formerly of Sugar Creek, Mo., passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Mo.

Doras was born in St. Joe, Ark., on October 11, 1930 to William and Gertrude (Maul) Crabtree. She had worked as a retail manager for The House of Sleep bedding company in Independence, Mo., for many years before her retirement. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gertrude Crabtree, a daughter, Marietta Tjaden, a son, Joseph Butkovich and a sister, Mary Lou Watts.

Doras is survived by two sons, Peter Butkovich of Richmond, Mo., and Thomas Butkkovich of Sugar Creek, Mo.; brother, Thomas Crabtree of Boston, Mass.; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice in her memory.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Mo., with Father James Taranto officiating.
