Deborah Sue McGregor, of Orrick, Missouri, completed her journey home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2026, passing away peacefully surrounded by love at the age of 63.

Born in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, on March 16, 1963, Debbie was the beloved daughter of Margaret “Peggy” Sue (Lana) McGregor and Duncan Scott McGregor Sr., and little sister to Duncan Scott McGregor Jr.

Debbie grew up in Orrick, graduating from Orrick High School in 1981. Debbie, also lovingly known as “McGurk,” was never married but lived a full life surrounding herself with close friends and family. She never met a person who didn’t instantly fall in love with her. She was truly the life of the party and a friend to all, always there if you needed her, up for any adventures, down for watching movies, especially anything with her man Matthew McConaughey in it, and football, especially her other man Travis Kelce and her Kansas City Chiefs. Debbie was truly a family person. She loved her family fiercely. She loved being around everyone in her family, but especially her nephews and nieces, Andrew, Trey, Nathan, Amanda, and Rainna. She was a very proud aunt. Then she was blessed when her two great-nieces came along, Pauline and Hollyann. They were her pride and joy. She was so proud being their great-aunt, cherishing every minute she had with them. And they absolutely adored her. She was also one of the best “Best Friends” you could ever ask for. Always fiercely loyal and true, honest and loving. Sherry, Susie, Donnette, and Tammy are four she had all her life, from grade school till today, being blessed with her loyalty, her goofiness, the trouble they got into together, their adventures, her sarcasm, and her love. Nothing, not even death, will break that bond.

Debbie lived life out loud. She never met a stranger, never missed a chance to have fun or to be a smartass, and taught us all how to love life in a BIG way. Debbie was one of a kind with the biggest heart. We will always be thankful and blessed for having her in our lives.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Peggy McGregor of Orrick; her older brother, Duncan (Laura) McGregor Jr. of Orrick; her nephews, Andrew Stockton of Kansas City, MO, Trey (Rebbecca) McGregor of Richmond, MO, and Nathan (Sammie) McGregor of Orrick; her nieces, Amanda (Bryce) Martin of Gladstone, MO, and Rainna Stockton of Kansas City; and her cherished great-nieces, Pauline and Hollyann McGregor of Orrick. She also leaves behind two very special best friends who were more like a brother and sister, Scott and Sherry Furey, along with a host of dear friends and extended family members who absolutely meant the world to her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Duncan Scott McGregor Sr.; both sets of grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends, especially her dear friend, George O’Dell.

We take comfort in knowing Debbie received the most wonderful welcome party at the gates of heaven. And we are sure they had one hell of a tailgate party and the best seats in the house for the Chiefs win Sunday night. Debbie, we love you so much and miss you more. Your passing has left a huge void in our hearts. Life will never be the same without you. We will never forget you. Thankfully, you made it hard to. And one last time, just for you: “GO CHIEFS!!”

Services for Debbie will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Orrick, with Pastor Jacob Overstreet officiating. A visitation for the family to receive friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Gowing Funeral Home, P.O.
