 Marcella Rose “Tot” McAfee, 80, of Orrick, Mo., passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the North Kansas City Hospice House following a brief illness.
 Marcella Rose, better known by her family and friends as Tot, was born on October 2, 1930 north of Orrick in the Albany community to Roy Martin and Lorena Hayes. On March 24, 1950 she was married to Malcolm “Tommy” McAfee in a ceremony performed in Liberty, Mo. She had lived most of her life in Orrick, except for when she and her husband moved to Carlton, Minn., in 1971, when her and Tommy transferred with his job. They lived in Carlton until they moved back to Orrick in 1978.
 Tot was a 1948 graduate of Orrick High School and was a member of the Orrick Baptist Church and she was a lifetime member of the Carlton, Minn., VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary.
 Tot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Malcolm “Tommy” McAfee on May 10, 1989, and three brothers, Roy Kenneth Martin, Dennis Ray Barber and Danny Gene Barber.
 Survivors include two sons, Jim “Bo Bo” McAfee of the home, Kenny McAfee and wife, Sandra, of Orrick, Mo.; a daughter, Leisa Cook and husband, Dennis, of Orrick, Mo.; a brother, Ronnie Barber and wife, Helen, of St. Joseph, Mo.; sister-in-law, Fern McAfee of Raymore, Mo.; granddaughter, Kenda Ransom and husband, Steve, of Orrick, Mo.; and great grandchildren, Dane and Sophia Ransom of Orrick, Mo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
 The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Gowing funeral home in Orrick. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Gowing Chapel with the Rev. Robert Horton officiating. Burial will be in South Point Cemetery near Orrick, Mo.
 Memorial contributions are suggested to the Orrick Fire & Rescue Squad or The North Kansas City Hospice House.
