CLARA JO CONKLIN

Mrs. Clara Jo Conklin, 61 Orrick, Mo., died August 20, 2009 at Ray County Memorial Hospital.
Clara was born on September 12, 1947 in Kansas City, Mo., to Wilburn David Collins and Roberta (Garrison) Collins. She had lived her entire life in the Kansas City Metro area.
Clara attended schools in the Kansas City Public School system.
She was united in marriage on November 20, 1972 in Miami, Okla., to Lloyd E. Conklin. She had worked as a cashier for Snappy Convenience Stores and Wal Mart .
She was a member of the Orrick Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Lloyd E. Conklin, of the home; sons, Robert Conklin and wife, Julie, of Leeton, Mo., and David Conklin of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Clara Katzenmaier and husband, Kenneth, of Fort Scott, Kans., Linda Oneski, of Springfield, Mo., Lorene Conklin of Orrick, M,., and Liana Trout and husband, Larry, of Independence, Mo.; a brother, James Collins, of Warsaw, Mo.; a half brother, Timothy Collins of Topeka, Kans.; and a half sister, Patricia Phelps, of Olathe, Kans.
Also surviving are 29 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Clara had many children that she cared for that regarded her as their adoptive mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Gowing Chapel in Orrick. Burial in South Point Cemetery near Orrick. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick.
